This is a seated style meditation, a cushion or chair and rug is provided, or you are welcome to bring your own meditation stool. Wear comfortable clothing and leave your shoes at the door.

Class numbers are capped to 20, so if you need to cancel your booking please promptly do this via the cancellation link in your confirmation email so someone else on the waiting list can immediately take your place. Thank you!

Urban Wellness has a ‘fragrance free policy’ so we kindly ask that you avoid wearing any perfume to this class in consideration of those who are sensitive to fragrance.

When we are super busy and juggling multiple tasks we are constantly operating in a stressed state which can slowly become our normal way of being. Over time this can greatly impact our hormone balance, sleep, immune system and mental health.

When the 3 major stress hormones Cortisol, Norepinephrine and Adrenalin are in excess this creates a situation that throws all of our hormones completely out of balance. A hormone imbalance, particularly the stress hormones, will disrupt sleep and also negatively impact our mind and overall emotional resilience.

Anything we can do to switch-off to give the sympathetic nervous system a break (fight or flight response) and reactivate the para-sympathetic state (relaxation) will help to will bring us back into alignment to support our overall health and wellbeing.

Meditation is one of the most accessible ways to re-balance and reduce the side-effects of stress overall. A mindful meditation practice brings relief and peace to the body, nervous system and mind. Combine this with the sweet tones of Jak Tazzar’s Scottish accent, some Kindred Self essential oils and relaxing music and you’re all set to access a deep rested state in no time at all… your body, mind and soul will love you for it!

Our weekly Mindful Meditation lead by Jak Tazzar at Urban Wellness allows yourself the space to be still and explore different meditation techniques week to week.
