AM I THE RIGHT FIT FOR URBAN WELLNESS?
We place great importance on independence at Urban Wellness. Small, boutique, original. We are all about providing a platform to those individuals who have something unique to offer this little corner of the world. Ours is not a space for multi-nationals or multi-levels.
Each practitioner deserves the right to shine in their own spotlight. This means reduced overlapping or double-ups of business modalities, and no double-ups of brands or products.
CAN I SELL PRODUCTS AT URBAN WELLNESS?
Absolutely! Our practitioners are more than welcome to sell their own non-competing products – we just need to review and approve them ahead of time. Again, we emphasise that we are all about original and independent people and products - we like to keep things authentic, unique, local.
Please be mindful that we have an onsite apothecary where we design and make our own brand of essential oil products under our label Kindred Self. This means we are unable to support the sale or promotion of any competing brands.
THE URBAN LANDSCAPE
We are located in the Hart’s Mill precinct of Port Adelaide, which means there can be some background noise in the form of traffic and industry. It’s not loud, it’s simply urban life. We ask that you make your clients aware of the location prior to their visit, so that we can manage their expectations and maximise their experience at Urban Wellness.
We require that at all times while using our services, you:
+ Are respectful and friendly towards other customers, wellness practitioners and outside providers;
+ Do not engage in verbal or physical intimidation, harassment or discrimination of any kind;
+ Are considerate of classes or other client appointments, and will help to maintain a calm and serene environment for all.
professional business practice
Urban Wellness is a professional workplace. A requirement for the casual rental of our space for client appointments is to maintain professional business practices such as your own cancellation policy, client intake forms, confidentiality agreement and to ensure the security of your client notes and their private information.
Practitioners working at Urban Wellness are to provide a copy of their business insurance suitable for their field of work and must include 10 million public liability cover. Urban Wellness is not responsible for accidents or injuries sustained during appointments, classes or workshops.
Access and TIME MANAGEMENT
It is a requirement that you work within the time block that is allocated to you. If you need access outside of your hire time block, please seek approval for access as there may be others hiring or utilising the workspace. This will ensure minimal disruption to other practitioners and clients using the space.
ONLINE BOOKINGS AND PAYMENTS
Please use the individual booking calendars within our online “Booking Portal” to check room availability or to book a casual timeblock. Our online payment system is managed by Square with each transaction being encrypted and secure. All information including your credit card is transferred only over HTTPS with up to 256-bit encryption. Our servers are verified PCI compliant.
‘CASUAL 1-2 HOUR HIRE’ CANCELLATION POLICY (FOR ALL ROOMS)
Payments for 1-2hr workspace hire are to be made at the time when making your booking via our booking portal. We offer rescheduling for cancelled appointments as outlined here:
+ If you cancel 1+ days from the hire date, rescheduling of your booking will be permitted within a 30 day period, subject to availability. Contact us to reschedule.
+ Rescheduling of your booking is not available if within 24 hours of the hire period
+ Refunds not available
‘THE WELLNESS ROOM / THE LOUNGE ROOM’ CANCELLATION POLICY
Payments for half day or evening workspace hire are to be made at the time when making your booking via our booking portal. We offer rescheduling for cancelled appointments as outlined here:
+ If you cancel 8+ days from the hire date, rescheduling of your booking will be permitted within a 60 day period, subject to availability. Contact us to reschedule.
+ Rescheduling of your booking is not available if within 7 days of the hire period
+ Refunds not available
‘THE COMMUNITY SPACE’ CANCELLATION POLICY
If booking a half day or full day, we require a non-refundable 50% deposit and then charge your card for the balance of the hire costs 3 weeks before your event. It is also an option to pay in full at the time of making your booking. We offer rescheduling for cancelled appointments as outlined here:
+ If you cancel within 3 weeks from the hire date, rescheduling of your booking will be permitted within a 90 day period, subject to availability. Contact us to reschedule.
+ Rescheduling of your booking is not available if within 20 days of the hire period
+ Refunds not available
YOUR CUSTOMER CANCELLATION POLICY
We recommend you align your own customer cancellation policy with the terms outlined above, or include a cancellation fee to cover your hire charges in your own cancellation policy.
FRAGRANCE FREE POLICY
Urban Wellness is a synthetic fragrance free environment. It is estimated that one quarter of the population has a low tolerance to synthetic fragrance with the slightest exposure being a trigger for irritation, pain and malaise. Some reactions include breathing difficulties, nose congestion, headaches and generally feeling unwell, tired or flat. We aim to provide a healthy environment for all to enjoy, so for the health and comfort of those who use our facility please refrain from wearing strong perfumes to our premises. Fragranced products such as reed stick diffusers, incense, fragrance oils, scented candles and synthetic room sprays are not permitted for use at Urban Wellness. Unscented candles, sage and palo santo are permitted, but care is to be taken during use. Please ensure they are correctly extinguished. You are welcome to use the complimentary pure essential oils and diffusers provided by Kindred Self.
For all workshops, classes and events being held at Urban Wellness, we offer an optional promotion service to help plug your event across our own social media channels as well as the workshop page on our website. If interested, please send us an image and complete the form on this page so we have the right amount of information to accurately promote your workshop.
Please be mindful that this complimentary service is not intended to replace the need for you to promote your workshop to your own target market and customer database. Please consider this service as a little extra way to plug your event. Urban Wellness does not take any responsibility for the success of your event, we simply hire and share our beautiful workspace with you! :-)
