FAQ / guidelines / code of conduct
HOW DO I CONTACT MY THERAPIST:
At Urban Wellness we like to provide a personalised service where you can communicate directly with your practitioner rather than a receptionist if you have any questions. Please browse our Practitioner Page for relevant contact information.
Please refer to your practitioner’s cancellation policy or contact your practitioner directly.
HOW DO I CANCEL or change MY APPOINTMENT:
For situations where you need to change or cancel your appointment, please contact your practitioner directly.
THE URBAN LANDSCAPE
Our studio is located in an urban environment, which means there can be some traffic and occasional industry background noise. Don’t worry, you won’t need ear muffs! However, we just want you to know this ahead of your visit. We promise you’ll still feel all the Zen feels in our little haven.
FRAGRANCE FREE POLICY
Urban Wellness is a synthetic fragrance free environment. It is estimated that one quarter of the population has a low tolerance to synthetic fragrance with the slightest exposure being a trigger for irritation, pain and malaise. Some reactions include breathing difficulties, nose congestion, headaches and generally feeling unwell, tired or flat. We aim to provide a healthy environment for all to enjoy, so for the health and comfort of those who use our facility please refrain from wearing strong perfumes to our premises. ( We recommend this book “The Case Against Fragrance” by Kate Grenville )
where can I park
Nile Street has available street parking, some 2 hour parks, some unlimited. If no street parking is available on the day you visit, we recommend parking in the Tafe carpark which is just a short stroll from Urban Wellness. Alternatively, there is additional public parking located near the river front.
We require that at all times while using our services, you:
+ Are respectful and friendly towards other customers and our wellness practitioners;
+ Do not engage in verbal or physical intimidation, harassment or discrimination of any kind;
+ Are considerate of classes or other client appointments, and will help to maintain a calm and serene environment for all.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY OF SELF CARE
Workshop activities, classes and some services run at Urban Wellness may be physical in nature and you voluntarily participate in them with full knowledge that there is risk of personal injury, property loss or death. Please accept that we are not medical practitioners and cannot give you any advice on your medical condition and your ability to participate in our services provided.
disclosure of Existing medical & physical conditions
It is your full responsibility to:
+ Ensure that you have permission from your doctor or treating practitioner to participate in our services;

CODE OF CONDUCT
From 18 March 2019 South Australia has implemented the Code of Conduct for Certain Health Care Workers (the code) , which aligns South Australia with the National Code of Conduct for Health Care Workers approved by the COAG Health Council.
Health care workers who do not fall within the jurisdiction of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) have to comply with the code and display certain information where they practise. Services such as those provided by counsellors, social workers, massage therapists, homeopaths, iridologists, naturopaths, reflexologists and reiki healers are just a small number of examples of unregistered health service providers.
The code establishes:
1. A range of minimum standards for unregistered health care workers
2. Additional powers to the HCSCC if an unregistered health care worker is found to have breached the Code.
Urban Wellness health care workers all choose to provide a professional and safe service by closely following the code. For more information, please download copies of the code below.
